Mills Memorial Hospital will be home to an MRI Machine early next year.
Northern Health’s Chris Simms says it will allow patients in the northwest access to resources a lot closer to home.
He says the closest place for residents to get an MRI would be Prince George and even in some cases have travel to the Lower Mainland.
Simms believes it will be operational by the end of March.
The new machine coming to Terrace is a part of an $8.3-million project that will also bring an MRI machine to Fort St. John and one being replaced in Prince George.
Northern Health, the province, three regional hospital districts (Fraser Fort George RHD, Peace River RHD, Northwest RHD) and numerous foundations will be splitting the cost.
