Ensuring the availability of adequate training is the first step in keeping skilled workers in the north, according to Minister of Advanced Education Melanie Mark.
Mark’s comments came following the unveiling of Coast Mountain College’s newly renovated House of Cedar trades training facility.
College President Ken Burt echoed Mark’s statements, saying that you have to create the workers before you can fill the jobs.
Both feel that the upgraded facility offers the capacity to deliver more workers to the regional workforce, and ensure that they recieve the best training possible.
