The Prince George RCMP report that a man who has been missing for five days has been located and is in good health.

Christopher Banks was reported missing late July 19th.

He was on his way to Woodcock Lake, but ended up getting his car stuck in a dead end road.

After spending the night in his car, and trying to dig it out, he decided to hike out.

He hiked about 15km before finding a cabin with food and water.

Banks decided to stay at the cabin and wait for help.

Because his car and the cabin are way past Woodcock Lake, it was out of the search area.

But the cabin owners heard there was a missing man in the area and went to check on their cabin, where they found Banks.

The Prince George RCMP would like to remind those going into the back country to always be prepared for the worst.

Take extra water and food as well as warm clothes, a tarp, matches or a lighter, a shovel, maps and a GPS.
