Moose rider charged a year after video surfaces

Conservation officials in BC say they’ve charged two men in connection with a video posted online that shows a man jumping on a moose and briefly riding the animal as it tried to cross a lake.

Deputy Conservation Officer Chris Doyle says two Fort St. John men are charged with harassing wildlife with the use of a boat, attempting to capture wildlife and hunting big game that is swimming.

The names of the accused have not been released but they are to make their first court appearance on August 8th in Fort Nelson. The video of the incident, which reported occurred in Tuchodi Lake near Fort Nelson went viral last year after it was posted by BC-based group Wolftracker TV.

The video can be seen here.
