Citizens using the Mills Memorial hospital can expect to see a decrease in wait times.
Northern health has added three more part-time emergency room physicians.
At this time one year ago, the hospital only had one full-time and one part-time doctor working the emergency room, with family doctors rotating the evening and weekend shifts.
Dr. Jaco Fourie is the northwest medical director for Northern Health and is very pleased with the additions.
Fourie noted a major reason for adding more part time workers is to try to ease the stress of the job.
The hospital estimates the doctors will work one 7 hour shift every week as well as one weekend shift every month.
