Some Moricetown residents got the chance to see and work with airplanes.
Fifteen youth from the band spent 4 months fundraising to pay for a day of flight lessons, The lessons cost 3,350 dollars for the day.
The youths, aged 16-28 worked odd jobs in their community to get the cash, their program mentor Rob Stewart hoped this would inspire some of the youth to become bush pilots.
The chief flight instructor, Eric Stier, said it’s important to show the students that they can tackle difficult tasks and succeed.
Stier hopes the kids learned some things and gained motivation through this experience.
One of the youths who took part in the lessons said “The first time I ever flew, it was just unreal. It’s a big thing for me and I’m really happy that this opportunity came knocking at the door,”
