Skeena-Bulkley Valley MP Nathan Cullen returned from his riding tour with salmon on the mind.
According to Cullen, fish harvest numbers and management plans were the most talked about issue no matter where he visited on his tour.
He reiterated beliefs that salmon is the heart of the Northwestern economy and lifestyle.
The trip also revealed many new strategies for how to tackle low fishing returns and how to make it so that those numbers can thrive again.
Cullen also made sure to mention that, while less fishing was a topic of discussion, the protected right of First Nations to fish for food is still a top priority.
Access to local fishing areas and ensuring equal enforcement of limitations on foreign involvement were also hot topics.
