Name change expected for Terrace’s aquatic centre

The aquatic centre in Terrace is expected to get a name change.

The Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine is proposing to change it to Terrace and District Aquatic Centre.

The regional district is hoping for the name change as it will better reflect the people who use the centre.

They’re also note the fact they are chipping in money for the upgrades to the centre that are currently underway.

Terrace council members believe it’s a good way to recognize other residents who use the centre.

Council is expected to approve a motion for the name change at a future council meeting.
