NDP calls for peaceful resolution at Unist’ot’en camp

The BC NDP has released a statement calling for a peaceful resolution to the on-going situation at the Unist’ot’en camp.

In a join statement, Scott Fraser, NDP spokesperson for aboriginal relations and reconciliation, and Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson saying,

“B.C. New Democrats have been closely monitoring the developing situation at the Unist’ot’en camp and are calling for a peaceful resolution. Aboriginal rights and title must be recognized and respected as events at the camp unfold.”

They also call out the BC Liberals for remaining silent on this issue, pointing out the camp is in Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation Minister John Rustad’s constituency.
