Bus service between Moricetown and Smithers will start running January 30th.
At a morning announcement in Smithers, Moricetown chief councillor Duane Mitchell says the bus service will help many people in his community.
The province also announced more local governments will be entering into agreements with BC Transit for expanded transit services over the spring.
The bus service was originally funded for three years, but aboriginal relations and reconciliation minister, John Rustad announced the province will provide funding for an additional two years.
An all-weather bus shelter was installed at the Gas Bar in Moricetown and there are also several bus stops in both communities.
The bus will run run six days per week. The fare for the 30-minute ride is $2.75.
