The opt in rate on the Ministry of Children and Family Development’s new Fee Reduction Initiative has hit 85 percent.
Minister of Children and Family Devlopment Katrine Conroy, and Minister of Child Care Katrina Chen, released the numbers this morning.
The huge growth comes just two months after the initial launch of the strategy.
More than 18 hundred child care providers across the province have now opted in to the reduction plan which has saved parents an approximate 12 million dollars already.
The Ministries have 3 other initiatives planned to take effect soon that aim to make more than 37 thousand existing child care spaces available at a reduced cost, and add more than 22 thousand more spaces.
