The province has brokered a new deal which will see senior and disability support workers under contract for 3 more years.
Members of the Community Bargaining Association and the Health Employers’ Association both agreed to the deal, which is the first under their multi-union mandate.
The agreement includes wage hikes of two percent per year and benefits, plus a 40 million dollar fund to close existing wage gaps and address turnover.
The contract will cover roughly 16 thousand employees through March of 2022.
