The Mills Memorial Hospital got an upgrade with a new Echocardiogram.
An echocardiogram is a type of ultrasound test that uses high-pitched sound waves that are sent through a device, the device then picks up echoes of the sound waves as they bounce off the different parts of your heart.
Dr. JeanPaul Lim is a doctor at the hospital and he’s been working on getting this machine for a year.
Lim adds this machine will improve work flow.
This new echo machine will be the first of its kind in the Northwest which will save some trips down to Prince George for some.
Lim says the approval for the machine was in April and the total cost of the project was around 162 thousand dollars.
