A new program will help less mobile residents of central BC with the removal of wildfire fuels from their property.
Thanks to a partnership between United Way, Work BC, and both the federal and provincial governments, the program will help seniors and those with disabilities feel safer during wildfire season.
Funded by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, the project will cover Williams Lake, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, and 100 Mile House.
On top of that, the project will also bolster local employment by providing 29 weeks of work to EI elligible residents.
