Drivers taking Highway 16 may notice a new passing lane near Telkwa.
The new 2-kilometer eastbound passing lane has been completed near Tyhee Lake to improve safety and efficiency for drivers.
Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure Claire Trevena says the Highway 16 experiences high volumes of commercial transport trucks and the new passing lane will help alleviate traffic congestion.
The new lane was part of a 6.5 million dollar project.
Improvements were also made to the George Frontage Road access to Highway 16 and the Bulkey Rest Area.
The B.C. government says it will continue to invest in transportation infrastructure for the safe, reliable and efficient movement of people and goods.
