The Nisga’a are helping out their Tahltan neighbours to the north affected by raging wildfires.
The Nisga’a Lisims Government has announced $10,000 to assist the Tahltan Natios with firefighting efforts and to help Telegraph Creek evacuees.
NLG President Eva Clayton says, in times like these, the Nisga’a offer their support and compassion without hesitation.
“Our hearts and prayers are with the Tahltan Nation at this very difficult time,” concluded Clayton.
Volunteers in the four Nisga’a communities have also mobilized to coordinate donation collections for delivery to the Terrace donation collection site.
