The Nisga’a Nation has issued a fire ban to prevent wildfires.
The Nisga’a Lisims Government says the prohibition includes campfires and all open burning in forested Nisga’a lands.
The ban does not apply to cooking stoves that use gas, propane, or briquettes.
The burning ban will be in effect until further notice.
