Northern BC advance poll turnout higher than national average

Northern BC residents appear eager to have their say in the upcoming federal election.

Advance Poll numbers from Elections Canada show a 71 percent increase compared to the 2011 early votes.

The numbers were even higher in northern British Columbia.

Skeena-Bulkley Valley saw 8322 people cast early ballots; an increase of over 83 percent from 2011.

Cariboo-Prince George saw 9891 voters come out to advance polls; an increase of 98 percent.

Prince George-Peace River-North Rockies saw the largest increase in advance vote numbers to 10,878; an increase of 114 percent compared to the 2011 advance poll numbers.

Regular voting for the 2015 federal election is Monday, October 19th.
