Many hospitals across the north have welcomed their first babies of 2017.
The first baby in Northern BC was delivered in Prince George on New Year’s Day at 1:55 a.m. and was a girl.
The second baby was born in Smithers at 7:15 a.m. and was a boy.
Prince Rupert, Quesnel, Vanderhoof, and Dawnson Creek have also welcomed their first babies of the New Year.
Terrace welcomed their first baby on New Year’s Day as well with a girl and was quickly followed by her twin sister.
The first baby born in British Columbia was in Vancouver at exactly midnight on New Year’s Day.
