With Fort St. James now no longer under evacuation alert from the Shovel Lake wildfire, things are getting back to normal.
Northern Health says it plans to repatriate patients who were moved from Fort St. James to Vanderhoof as a precaution during the fire.
The health authority says in-patients, long-term care, and community services clients are being moved back to Fort St. James today Wednesday.
Officials say the Fort St. James Hospital will not resume full operation, such as additional admissions, except on an exceptions basis until Thursday.
Northern Health says that will be to accommodate patient repatriation and “full resumption and stabilization of staffing and patient services.”
The containment of the Shovel Lake fire has also meant the re-opening of the Fort St. James CNC Campus and School District 91.
The college welcomed back students for orientation and the first week of classes.
