Northwest avalanche risk considered moderate to considerable

Avalanche Canada says risks of avalanches in the Northwest are now considered moderate to considerable.

Northwest Inland areas are at a moderate risk for at and below treeline levels with a considerable risk at the alpine levels.

As for the Northwest Coastal areas, a moderate risk applies for below the tree line area with considerable risk in place for treeline and alpine levels

The moderate risk means natural avalanches are unlikely while human cause ones are possible.

The considerable risk means natural avalanches are possible with human-triggered avalanches likely.

Updated reports can be found on Avalanche Canada’s website.
