Municipalities and First Nations communities across the northwest are urging local candidates to fight for the Northwest BC Resource Benefits Alliance.
The alliance will allow northwest areas to collect a share of revenue made off resource projects like mines and pipelines.
Terrace Mayor Carol Leclerc says the alliance has been looking to strike a deal with the province as it will help them catch up on improving infrastructure.
She says the northeast already has an agreement in place, and it shows it can really help the smaller communities fund major projects they need.
The Northwest BC Resource Benefits alliance encompasses municipalities and First Nations communities from Haida Gwaii to Vanderhoof.
