13 post secondary schools including Northwest Community College revived funds for trades training seats.
The funding is 65 thousand dollars for up to 16 additional seats in a harmonized carpentry foundation course in Kitkatla.
Sarah Zimmerman is the communications officer for the college and she says this will create new opportunities for many students.
Zimmerman adds nothing is being planned for another four additional trades seats so all the money will probably go to those 12 seats.
The other schools receiving these funds are:
BC Institute of Technology, Camosun College, College of New Caledonia, College of the Rockies, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Nicola Valley Institute of Technology, North Island College, Okanagan College, Thompson Rivers University, University of the Fraser Valley, Vancouver Community College and Vancouver Island University.
