Three northwest BC mayors got a closer look at Alberta’s economic engine this week.
Municipal leaders from Terrace, Prince Rupert, and Kitimat, got a tour of some oilsands operations and met with the mayor of Fort McMurray courtesy of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers Thursday.
Terrace Mayor Carol Leclerc says the Northwest can learn from Fort McMurray’s experience when it comes to the impact of development on housing.
Leclerc says the oilsands community started its own housing corporation.
Leclerc and other northern BC municipal government officials are attending the annual Federation of Canadian Municipalities conference in Edmonton.
