Four Northwest municipalities are forging ahead with a resident and workforce attraction project.
Terrace, Prince Rupert, the District of Kitimat, and Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine last month began the search for a consultant to come up with a marketing strategy.
Prince Rupert Manager of Transportation and Economic Development Paul Vendittelli says the move came about after local surveys determined that recruiting and retaining employees was an issue for local business and industry.
The municipalities have picked Munro-Thompson Communications fo come up with the marketing plan.
Over the next few months, Munro-Thompson will conduct a research-based approach for marketing the region as an attractive area for working professionals and potential residents to relocate to.
