It’s been a slow and steady climb, but the Northwest Regional Airport’s air terminal expansion project is complete.
The two-and-a-half year expansion saw the creation of a new departures terminal check in area, airline offices, renovations to the security screening and hold room, and new board and training rooms.
The airport held a grand opening celebration, ribbon cutting, and 75th anniversary Saturday.
The expansion project received funding from the federal and provincial governments, the Northern Development Initiative Trust, and a temporary airport improvement fee.
