It sounds like a story from a bad comedy sketch… but it happened in Quesnel.
On Tuesday, a 44-year old man went into a restaurant on Reid Street around 9:45am and approached the counter.
He asked the cashier for some change.
When the register opened, he made a grab for the cash and got a small amount.
Unfortunately for him, he didn’t notice there were several police officers sitting at the table next to the counter having their morning coffee.
Suffice to say, the man was quickly arrested.
He’s now in custody facing a charge of Theft Under $5000.
