Northwest residents are getting back normal after a big dump of snow earlier this week.
Highway 16 between the Port Edward turnoff and 35 kilometres west of Terrace was reopened Wednesday morning after crews conducted avalanche work on the route.
The highway was shut down Tuesday night because of the high avalanche risk.
The Terrace campus of Northwest Community College is back open for class after it was shut down due to heavy snow Tuesday.
Despite treacherous conditions around the region, the Terrace RCMP detachment says most motorists were either choosing to stay home or were driving very cautiously. It says there were no major incidents.
Environment Canada has called off the winter storm warnings for Terrace and Kitimat, although more snow is expected.
