Northwest Community College says the community longhouse will remain a cultural and student-centered programming building.
Back in February, the college was looking at options to get more usage out of the building and was exploring have trades classes there while the building is under renovations.
NWCC says they want to work with all groups to ensure the longhouse is getting the best use.
The student union says they want themselves and NWCC First Nations Advisory Council to be involved in the consultations.
The student union feels they haven’t been consulted enough.
The union will be holding a drumming protest on Friday at 11 a.m. to voice their concern with the lack of consultation.
