Northwest Community College has selected a new operator for its Terrace campus childcare facility.
NWCC says PACES Daycare Society, which has operated in the community since 1992, is expected take over services by the end of the month.
The college had to act fast after Terrace and District Community Services Society announced December 12 that it would be ceasing daycare operations at NWCC January 26th.
“We understand the importance of the availability of daycare spaces to our students, staff and the greater community,” said Ken Burt in a news release. “We are happy that in a very short time frame we were able to identify an experienced daycare provider that is committed to providing this service on campus.”
PACES will continue to operate programming out of its existing facility next to Caledonia Senior Secondary School in addition to the space at NWCC.
PACES Manager Nancy Dumais says the society is working towards starting services as soon as possible to maintain continuity of care.
Parents with questions about availability for their children should contact PACES Daycare Society.
