Northwest Community College is getting money from the province to help trades students.
Advanced education minister Andrew Wilkinson was at NWCC’s Terrace campus to make the $171,428 announcement Monday.

NWCC will use the funds to buy updated equipment, including electrical training boards and a low-bed trailer for heavy mechanic students.
The college’s Dean of Trades Brent Speidel says students need the latest and greatest to help them as they enter the workforce.

NWCC President Ken Burt says the money will help the college build on its trades training program which helps students entering a range of sectors including mining and oil and gas.
