Effective as of noon tomorrow, all campfires will be banned within the Cariboo Fire Centre’s jurisdiction.
The ban, in response to recent extreme heat in the area, includes both category 2 and 3 open fires as well.
Prohibited activities during the ban include: starting or maintaining open fires of any size, stubble or grass fires and tiki torches, and the use of fireworks or fire crackers, sky lanterns, burning barrels or burning cages, explosive targets, or air curtain burners.
The ban will remain in effect until September 29th.
