A Pee Wee hockey tournament has been forced to relocate to Terrace due to the labour dispute in Kitimat.
The Kitimat municipal worker’s strike has shut down their arena, forcing the Pee Wee Tier 3 Championship tournament to move to the Terrace Sportsplex at the last moment.
Tony Velho is the Chair of the Organizing Committee.
He says the Terrace community has stepped up in helping the tournament relocate.
There will be approximately 140 players in this tournament, and for many of the players, this will be their first big hockey event.
The tournament takes place March 15th to 18th at the Terrace Sportsplex. Tickets are $5 for single days, $15 for the tournament and $20 for a family tournament pass.
