B.C Transit made a huge announcement on June 16th unveiling the two new transit buses for highway 16.
This project was put into place to help limit the number of hitch-hikers seen on Highway 16.
The buses will be located in Burns Lake, while one travels to Smithers and back, and the other will travel to Prince George.
Fees for the buses will either be 5 dollars for a single rider and free for anyone traveling with a child under the age of 5 years old.
Jonathon Dyck is the communications manager for B.C Transit and he says the numbers in the first month of service were great.
Dyck says B.C transit will continue to work on a transit service between Terrace and Hazeltown and hope to have a route done in the future.
