Energy company Petronas is looking to once again involve itself in plans to bring an LNG plant to Kitimat.
The company formerly scrapped plans to go through with the project on its own last year, but now wants to team up with LNG Canada.
North Montney LNG Limited, which is owned by Petronas, has signed an equity agreement with LNG Canada, Shell Canada, PetroChina, Mitsubishi, and Korea Gas Corp.
The agreement would see Petronas own a 25 percent stake in LNG Canada, who are still waiting on final investment decisions on the 40 billion dollar project.
The company announced plans to begin construction on the Kitimat plant this year earlier in the year.
