Petronas LNG decision could come in June

Malaysian energy giant Petronas says it expects to make a final investment decision (FID) on its $11 billion LNG export terminal on the North Coast by late spring.

Company CEO Shamsul Azhar Abbas is quoted in a Reuters report that a decision on the Pacific NorthWest LNG project near Port Edward could come near the end of June.

Petronas delayed the final green light on the LNG project in December citing concerns about high costs and other outstanding issues.

However, Shamsul Abbas was quoted by Reuters Friday as saying that issues with the BC Government had been resolved.
