Students at a number of schools throughout the province will return to fresh and revamped playgrounds this September.
51 schools across the province will be receiving new playgrounds as part of a fund announced by Premier John Horgan.
The Playground Equipment fund will see 5 million dollars invested by the provincial government to ease the burden of fundraising from the schools and parents.
In the area: Bella Coola Elementary, Tahaygen Elementary in Haida Gwaii, Conrad Elementary in Prince Rupert, and Muhiem Elementary in Smithers will all receive 105 thousand in funding to create accessible playgrounds.
Glenview Elementary is Prince George, Frank Ross Elementary in Dawson Creek, Atlin School in the Stikine, and Thornhill Elementary will all receive 90 thousand dollars from the project as well.
The funding is part of 2 billion dollars in investments set aside for school improvements in the 2018 budget.
