Pacific Northern Gas says crews have inspected a section of damaged pipeline between Terrace and Prince Rupert.
The company was alerted to the damage when the line experience a pressure drop at 5:30 Wednesday evening.
Officials say a repair plan has been developed, and weather permitting, crews will access the area to make repairs.
There has been no service interruption, but the company is continuing to ask customers in Prince Rupert and Port Edward to reduce their natural gas use until the line can be repaired.
PNG says it’s doing everything it can to avoid a gas outage and has a backup plan should repairs take longer than necessary.
