Following an in depth review of the Local Government Act, RCMP have determined that no violations took place during an event in Williams Lake last week.
Police received reports that a candidate was in violation of the act by being present during a Special Voting Opportunity at a senior home last Thursday.
Under the Act, candidates are not allowed to be in attendance at polling stations during these voting events.
However, after speaking with witnesses and reviewing the legislation, police determined that all campaign activities had concluded prior to the opening of the polls.
