Williams Lake RCMP have one person in custody after police were called to a break and enter in progress Thursday.
Officers and a police dog went to a home in the 1500 block of 4th Avenue shortly before 4 p.m.
Evidence pointed to forced entry, so police entered the home and told the suspect that a police dog was present.
Mounties say the suspect tried to run, but was arrested by the officers with help from the dog.
The man injured by the police dog Grimm during the arrest and was assessed at Cariboo Memorial Hospital.
The 48-year-old man, well known to RCMP, will remain in custody pending a court appearance.
Williams Lake RCMP would like to thank the people who saw the break-in and called police right away.
