Frustration over the garbage at her local hiking trails drove one person to start a clean-up campaign.
Channelling the force of social media, Chantal Bolton founded Positive Prince Rupert.
She says she sees both litter and illegal dumping, with things ranging from chip bags to broken TVs to abandoned cars.
The group plans on cleaning four sites a month, going to one site each weekend.
She says the amount of, and the size of the junk can be overwhelming, but they’ll tackle it slowly.
So far, the sites that they’ve gone through have remained relatively clean, but she says she’ll keep going as long as it’s necessary.
Anyone who wants to help or volunteer can look for updates on their Facebook page under Positive Prince Rupert.
