The union representing nearly 51,000 Canada Post employees has issued a 72-hour notice of job action. The Canadian Union of Postal Workers is accusing the Crown corporation of forcing this labour dispute.
The federal labour minister says Canada Post and CUPW will begin working with a special mediator tomorrow morning.
It’s not yet clear if there’ll be a disruption of mail and parcel deliveries, something that — if it does happen — could come as early as next week. The notice puts letter carriers in a legal strike position by Sunday.
