Premier John Horgan announced his new plan for how to combat dwindling salmon stocks this morning.
A Wild Salmon Advisory Council featuring 14 experts within BC has been assembled to develop a strategy for how to restore and sustain wild salmon populations.
Nanaimo- North Cowichan MLA Doug Routley and Chief Marilyn Slett of the Heiltsuk First Nation will co-chair the Council.
Supported by the advice and guidance of the panel, the province will begin developing proposals for a wild salmon strategy this summer.
