A woman was attacked while jogging late at night in Prince George earlier this week.
Mounties there say the Monday night attack happened at around 11:30 p.m. along the Foothills Boulevard near Ochakwin Crescent.
The victim was attacked from behind by a man, knocking her to the ground where she was struck several times. The attacker then tried to sexually assault her, but was scared off by a passing motorist who honked.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was able to get to safety.
Police believe the suspect may have marks or injuries, and is described as a man with a medium build, taller than 5’7″ and wearing a black hoody.
Investigators are asking anyone who saw the attack or the passing motorist to contact them.
Police also suggest runners not to use headphones or anything that can restrict hearing, change routes and times, stay in well-lit areas, and run with others.
