Prince Rupert fire fighters were able knock down a fire before it spread to nearby homes Sunday night.
Crews were called out to a home in the 1500 block of 11th Avenue shortly after 5 o’clock when flames broke out in the carport.
Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Beckwith says the fire, fueled with plenty of plastics, was burning extremely hot and fast.
There were no injuries but the flames spread to a neighbouring travel trailer and caused some heat damage to the home next door.
Beckwith says the residents in the neighbourhood were very helpful to crews and he thanks them for the assistance.
Crews were at the fire until about 8 pm.
The fire department will be back on scene Monday morning to investigate the cause of the blaze.
