The City of Prince Rupert has chosen a Victoria firm to do a refit of the Digby Island Airport Ferry.
The vessel, which transports cargo and passengers to the Prince Rupert Airport, requires a refit every three years.
Council awarded Point Hope Maritime the $347,000 contract, which was the lowest of three quotes.
The City will also spend $264,000 on a barge to transport airport passengers while the refit is underway next year, bringing the total cost estimate to over $611,000.
