Prince Rupert is now home to a Whale Trail.
The system of trails is designed to give visitors and residents a front row seat to the marine animals that live along the North Coast.
The idea was first developed in Washington State, with the Vancouver Aquarium expanding the trails into B.C.
Caitlin Birdsall is Vancouver Aquarium’s coordinator for their North Coast Initiative.
She says the Aquarium decided to expand the trails to the province.
Birdsall says they’re encouraging anyone to send sights or observations to scientists so they can better understand the patterns of marine life.
