Two people have been arrested for drug trafficking in a joint investigation between Kitimat and Prince Rupert RCMP.
On August 28, Prince Rupert RCMP arrested 34 year old Jeremiah Dylan Pilgrim and 26 year old Caitlyn Ashley Nelson in Prince Rupert.
Police seized over 1,200 tablets containing heroin and fentanyl, as well as over $12,000 in cash.
Both Pilgrim and Nelson are facing two trafficking charges and will appear in Prince Rupert court on September 30th.
Sgt. Jagdev Uppal of the Prince Rupert RCMP said in a statement that there was a death earlier this year in Prince Rupert believed to be related to a fentanyl overdose as well as numerous non-fatal overdoses.
Fentanyl is a powerful drug believed to be 100 times more potent than morphine and has proven to be fatal in many communities throughout BC.
The police asks the public to report any suspicious activity that may be associated to the drug trade by contacting their local detachment or by calling Crime Stoppers.
