A parent in Prince Rupert wants to shed more light on Autism.
Symbia Barnaby feels resources are limited when it comes to giving parents support.
Barnaby says a lot of resources like respite care are not readily accessible to parents.
A coroners inquest into the murder-suicide of a Prince Rupert mother and her autistic son was held three years ago.
Barnaby hopes the recommendations from that inquest are put in place.
She doesn’t direct blame for the lack of resources, but wants parents with autistic children to get the support they need.
She feels as a parent with a daughter that has autism, she wanted to ensure everyone has all the support they can get.
Barnaby is urging parents who need or want support to join their local group on Facebook.
