The province and Métis Nation BC have renewed a commitment to work together.
The announcement came on the heels of the province proclaiming November 16th as Louis Riel day.
The commitment was established in 2006. It was made to help improve health, housing, education, and economic opportunities.
It also comes after earlier this year the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that Métis people are entitled to have status in the country.
President of Metis Nation BC Clara Morin Dal Col says she’s pleased with the recommitment and looks forward to working with the provincial government.
